Day-wise Itinerary
Arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport (BBI) or Railway Station. Your private driver will greet you and begin the journey toward Puri ($65$ km). En route, visit the Dhauli Peace Pagoda, where Emperor Ashoka renounced war, and the colorful appliqué village of Pipili. Check into your hotel in Puri and spend your evening relaxing on the Golden Beach, famous for its fine sands and spiritual vibes.
Start early with a visit to the Jagannath Temple for Darshan (note: only Hindus are allowed inside). After breakfast, drive along the scenic Marine Drive to Konark ($35$ km). Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Sun Temple, an architectural marvel designed as a giant celestial chariot. On the way back, visit Chandrabhaga Beach and the Ramachandi Temple at the confluence of the river and sea.
Drive to Satapada (Chilika Lake) ($50$ km), India’s largest brackish water lagoon. Hire a local boat to witness the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins and visit the Sea Mouth (where the lake meets the Bay of Bengal). In the afternoon, drive back to Bhubaneswar, visiting the Sakhigopal Temple and the Raghurajpur Heritage Crafts Village (famous for Pattachitra paintings) along the way.
After breakfast, explore the "Temple City." Visit the 11th-century Lingaraj Temple (Shiva), the intricate Mukteswar Temple, and the twin rock-cut caves of Khandagiri & Udayagiri. If time permits, enjoy a quick trip to the Nandankanan Zoological Park (famous for White Tigers). Finally, drop-off at the Airport or Railway Station for your return journey.
