Day-wise Itinerary
Arrive at Guwahati Airport (GAU) or Railway Station. Your private vehicle will be waiting for the 5-hour drive to Kaziranga National Park. Check into your resort and spend the evening at the Kaziranga Orchid Park to enjoy local folk dances and a showcase of indigenous flora.
Experience the wild in two ways: an early morning Elephant Safari for a close-range view of the rhinos, followed by an afternoon Jeep Safari through the Central or Western range to spot wild buffalo, swamp deer, and diverse birdlife.
After breakfast, drive to Nimati Ghat (Jorhat). Board the ferry with your vehicle for a 1.5-hour crossing of the Brahmaputra to reach Majuli Island. Check into your traditional bamboo cottage (Chang Ghar). In the evening, visit the Garmur Satra to witness the spiritual heritage of the island.
Explore the unique culture of Majuli. Visit Auniati Satra (known for its museum), Kamalabari Satra (famous for classical dance), and Samaguri Satra, where you can watch artists create traditional masks for Bhaona performances. Later, visit a Mising tribal village to see their unique stilted houses and handloom weaving.
Take the morning ferry back to the mainland and begin the long drive toward Guwahati ($320$ km / $8$ hours). Upon arrival, check into your hotel. If time permits, enjoy a peaceful stroll along the Brahmaputra riverfront or a farewell dinner at a local Assamese restaurant.
Visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal Hill for morning blessings. Follow this with a visit to the Umananda Temple (located on a river island) or the Kalakshetra museum. Finally, you will be dropped off at the Airport or Railway Station.
