Day-wise Itinerary
Arrive at Guwahati Airport (GAU) or Railway Station. Your driver will lead you on the scenic 3-hour ascent to Shillong. Stop at Umiam Lake for a panoramic view and some quick snacks. After checking in, explore the local culture at Ward’s Lake and enjoy the evening at Police Bazar.
Drive to the West Jaintia Hills to visit the breathtaking Krang Suri Falls. Known for its ethereal blue natural pool, it's the perfect spot for a refreshing dip. On the way back, visit the Nartiang Monoliths, ancient stone markers of the Jaintia Kings. Return to Shillong for the night.
Check out and head toward Laitlum Canyons, a vast expanse of green gorges that feel like the edge of the world. Later, drive to Cherrapunji (Sohra). Visit the roaring Nohkalikai Falls and the Seven Sisters Falls. Explore the fossil-rich Arwah Caves before checking into your resort.
Today is the "Big Trek." Drive to Tyrna village and begin your descent down 3,500 stone steps to reach the Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat. If your energy allows, trek another hour to the stunning Rainbow Falls. Spend the afternoon swimming in natural turquoise pools before the challenging climb back up.
Drive to Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia. Visit the Riwai Single Decker Root Bridge and the Sky Walk. Continue to Dawki and witness the glass-like Umngot River. Enjoy a sunset boat ride and visit the Tamabil Border (India-Bangladesh). Stay overnight in a riverside camp at Shnongpdeng for a true adventure experience.
Spend your morning engaging in river activities at Shnongpdeng—Cliff Jumping, Kayaking, or Snorkeling. In the afternoon, begin your drive back to Shillong. Stop at the Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak for a final view of the plateau. Enjoy a farewell dinner at a local Khasi café.
After breakfast, do some last-minute shopping for local fruit wines and bamboo crafts. Descend to Guwahati for your drop-off at the Airport or Railway Station.
