Tour Highlights
Day-wise Itinerary
Arrive at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). Meet your representative and begin the winding 4.5-hour drive to Gangtok. Check into your hotel and spend the evening acclimatizing with a slow walk on MG Marg. Enjoy some local Sikkimese tea as you prepare for the high altitudes ahead.
Drive to the famous Tsomgo Lake (Changu), an oval-shaped glacial lake held sacred by locals. Continue to the New Baba Mandir, built in memory of Major Harbhajan Singh. On clear days, the reflection of the surrounding peaks in the lake is breathtaking. Optional visit to Nathula Pass (Indo-China Border) can be added depending on permit availability.
Check out and begin the dramatic drive to Lachen (8,800 ft). Along the way, stop at the Seven Sisters Waterfalls and the Singhik View Point, which offers one of the best views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Pass through the confluence at Chungthang before arriving at your remote lodge in Lachen.
Wake up at 4:00 AM for the drive to Gurudongmar Lake ($17,800$ ft). Witness the crystal-clear waters that never fully freeze, even in peak winter. On the way back, stop at Chopta Valley and Thangu. After lunch, drive 2 hours to the beautiful village of Lachung.
Drive to Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft), the "Valley of Flowers." Explore the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary and soak your feet in the natural Hot Springs. For more snow, you can opt to visit Zero Point (Yumesamdong). In the afternoon, begin the long but scenic drive back to Gangtok for your final night.
After a final breakfast overlooking the valley, visit the Enchey Monastery or the Flower Show if time permits. Your driver will then drop you at NJP or Bagdogra for your flight or train home.
