Tour Highlights
Day-wise Itinerary
Arrive at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). Meet your driver for the scenic 4-hour drive along the Teesta River to Gangtok. After checking into your hotel, spend your evening at MG Marg, the city's pedestrian-only main street. It is the perfect place to try authentic Thukpa or Momos and browse for local handicrafts.
Start early for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), a sacred glacial lake at 12,400 ft. Enjoy a unique Yak ride along its banks. Continue further to the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a shrine dedicated to a legendary Indian soldier. If permits allow and weather permits, you can opt for an extension to the Nathula Pass (Indo-China border).
Check out and begin your 6-hour journey to Lachung (8,600 ft). This drive is one of the most beautiful in India, passing by the Seven Sisters Waterfalls, Singhik View Point, and the confluence at Chungthang. As you enter North Sikkim, the air becomes crisper and the peaks closer. Reach Lachung by evening and enjoy a warm local dinner.
Early morning, drive to Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft), often called the "Valley of Flowers" for its seasonal rhododendron blooms. You can also visit the Hot Spring, known for its medicinal properties. For snow enthusiasts, an optional trip to Zero Point (Yumesamdong) can be arranged. After lunch, drive back to Gangtok.
After breakfast, if time permits, visit the Do Drul Chorten Stupa or the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. Finally, begin your descent back to NJP or Bagdogra for your onward journey, marking the end of your Sikkimese adventure.
